The S.H.A.I.D. Tree Shelter Society endeavors to relieve the suffering of animals by providing temporary care and Shelter to Helpless Animals in Distress, be they abandoned, homeless or unwanted and attempts to place as many as possible into responsible and caring homes.
The Society also strives to educate the public in responsible pet ownership and promotes the spaying and neutering of pets.
S.H.A.I.D., standing for Sheltering Helpless Animals In Distress, is a small shelter located near Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. We are a Non-Profit organization registered with the Canada Revenue Agency. Over the years, S.H.A.I.D. has evolved into a no kill shelter where animals do not have time limits and are only euthanized for serious medical conditions or severe aggression issues, making them unadoptable.
The shelter is located at 950 Mulloch Road just outside Bridgewater.
